ART AND CINEMA IN INDIA

 Ao longo do mes de xuño o alumnado mergullouse no marabilloso mundo da India.

 Por unha parte, nas clases de Plástica realizou deseños Rangoli, un tipo de arte folclórico deste país, realízanse nos pisos das salas de estar e patios durante festivais hindús.

 Nas clases de Inglés, fixéronse presentacións con datos sobre a industria de Bollywood e a creación de mini books relacionados co tema. Ademáis fixeron unha entrevista con interesantes preguntas a Ria Kakkad, ex auxiliar de conversa que traballou coa mestra Olga no 2018 e segue as tradicións indias.

Todos os traballos foron expostos nunha pequena instalación no colexio. Moitos parabéns a tod@s!

 

 During the month of June the students immersed themselves in the wonderful world of India.

In the Art lessons they made Rangoli patterns using different materials . Rangoli is traditional Indian decoration and patterns made with ground rice, particularly during festivals.

In the English lessons they learned a lot of interesting facts about the film industry in Bollywood. Also, they made mini books and interviewed Ria Kakkad, a former language assistant who has an Indian background.

All the work was shown in an installation at the school. Congratulations to all the students !!💪🏼

STAN MIKITA, AN ICE HOCKEY LEGEND

Nesta unidade estamos traballando todo o relacionado co deporte🏑 O alumnado de 5º tiña como proxecto final facer  unha descrición dun ou dunha deportista famos@.

Aproveitamos a oportunidade de que o avó materno da nosa auxiliar Erin é unha lenda do hóckey sobre xeo  nos Estados Unidos. Premendo na foto podedes ver a presentación que resultou moi interesante para as dúas clases de 5º. 

This unit is about sports🏈 and 5th graders had to write about a famous sportsperson as the final project of the unit.

They were very lucky to enjoy a special presentation to use as a model to create their own later.

This was made by Erin and it was about her grandfather, Stan Mikita who was a famous ice hockey player in Chicago.Thanks, Erin!

A SHARK IN THE PARK

Unha das últimas lecturas en infantil e 1º de Primaria foi "A Shark in the Park" de Nick Sharratt. Este divertido libro consigue captar a atencion d@s máis cativ@s  polo seu humor, rimas e as ilustracións.

Tras a lectura realizáronse diferentes actividades, entre elas a creación deste libriño que resume o máis importante do conto.

One of the latest stories we read to Kindergarten and 1st Primary students was "A Shark in the Park" by Nick Sharratt. This entertaining book is able to gain students' attention because of  its  humor, rhymes and lovely illustrations.

Students did some after-reading activities,one of them was this mini book which includes the most relevants parts of the story.

CINEMA BOOK

Unha das actividades relacionadas co proxecto deste ano é a creación dun dicionario visual galego-inglés que inclúa termos relacionados coa temática do cine. Todo o alumnado de Educación Primaria participou realizando nas clases de Plástica fermosos debuxos para ilustrar cada palabra. Parabéns polo resultado!

One of the activities related to the school project about cinema was making a Cinema Book in Galician and English including words about the topic. Congratulations to all Primary students on your amazing job!

DESCRIBING MYTHICAL CREATURES

 O alumnado de 5º de Primaria fixo moi boas descricións de seres mitolóxicos, practicando o vocabulario e estructuras vistas na clase foron quen de levar a cabo esta actividade con éxito.

5th graders wrote very nice descriptions about mythical creatures using the vocabulary and structures learned in unit 5.
